Born out of a commitment to the local growers and livestock owners of our small town, E.B. Mercantile strives to be a cornerstone of the community. We take pride in maintaining the same personalized customer service and charm that was the norm 70 years ago. We try to bridge the gap between tradition and modern quality, ensuring every crate of produce and bag of feed carries the feeling that only comes from being a "local".

Meet Ethan & Patti, owners of E.B. Mercantile. Ethan is a combat veteran who has called our community home since 2009 after years of military deployments. When he’s not behind the scenes handling back-office duties, Ethan loves spending chilly autumn evenings by a fire with a good cigar, a glass of bourbon, and his "saint of a wife," Patti. Their lively home is shared with a flock of 26 egg-slacking chickens (headed by Beefers the rooster), Loki the cookie-stealing parrot, and Ethan’s favorite smoking buddy - Whiskey, a German Shepherd who keeps his coat shiny with Diamond Naturals Skin and Coat formula dog food and who isn't above stealing a sip of bourbon if left unattended! Around E.B. Mercantile, you might catch Ethan snacking on fresh tomatoes, blueberry English muffins, or "truck cookies," or inventing his own fun names for inventory like "canteloopies." As a self-proclaimed "man of girth," his favorite part of the job is chatting with customers to swap project ideas and steal all the best home recipes. Above all, Ethan and Patti feel immensely blessed by their hard-working, passionate staff who pour their hearts into making E.B. Mercantile a success every single day.

Jason has been part of the Louisa community for 20 years, including 18 years as a business owner and the last 1½ years as General Manager of E.B. Mercantile. He loves getting to know customers and helping them find quality products for their animals at the best prices. When he’s not at the store, you’ll usually find Jason buying supplies, making deliveries, loading trucks, or doing whatever is needed.
Jason is also a proud dog dad to eight dogs, Diamond Naturals Skin & Coat and Joy Select 23/16 being his go to products for their health and wellness. Around EB Mercantile, you’ll find Jason working hard to keep things running and taking care of our customers!

Meet Jen
Jen has called our community home for the last 12 years and loves spending time with her 3 horses, 3 cats & family. Her favorite animal is her OTTB mare, Grace, who insists she's the boss of the barn. Jen's go-to recommendation is Tribute feeds because she sees the difference it makes in her own horses. Around E.B. Mercantile you'll usually find Jen answering questions, restocking shelves, or chatting with customers.
Meet Maurena
Maurena has been around livestock her whole life and started raising her own poultry at just 14. Her favorite animal is her friendly hen, Sugar, who comes running when called and never misses a chance to demand a treat. Maurena trusts Formax feeds for her chickens and Tucker Milling Showflock for her ducks & turkeys. She loves to help answer customer questions - especially ones about poultry!
Meet Lyndsye
Lyndsye enjoys life on her farm with chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, cats and her Great Pyrenees dogs. Her favorite pet is all of them! Lyndsye's favorite brand of feed is Kalmbach for her poultry and Diamond Naturals for her dogs. She enjoys talking with customers and helping them find the best products for their lifestyle. At E.B. Mercantile you'll find Lyndsye arranging shelves and making things pretty!
